The end of a year can be more than a finish line. It can be a chance to notice how much changed while daily life kept moving.
A year worth naming
In 2025, Chris stepped into clinical leadership, opened Anchor & Sail Psychotherapy, began doctoral study, completed advanced supervision training, and became an approved primary supervisor in Nevada. He also completed graduate research connecting childhood adversity, emotion, and moral foundations; adapted that work into a book; expanded his counseling credentials; presented at the Neuroscience Education Institute Fall Congress; and joined a group committed to thoughtful, ethical engagement with AI in mental health.
Looking forward
The reflection is also honest about the tension between ambition and responsibility. The next chapter includes completing a doctorate, building a home and marriage, mentoring developing therapists, and continuing work across clinical practice, education, and technology.
Its invitation is simple: celebrate your wins, take responsibility for what did not work, and enter the next year with clarity and resolve.
